Solution of Room 99 in The Castle
The Castle was definitely one of the greatest games on the MSX! Certainely, it was one of the games that inspired me to create The Magic Seal. I think room 99 in The Castle, was really hard. I know a lot of people who played the whole game up to this room, and then got stuck forever! In this page, I am going to show the solution of this room, to the fans of this great game!
Here is how it starts...
The first thing you have to do, is to
push the lowermost barrel to the right, so that you can get through this
narrow tunnel.
To do it, first push the block below to the left, so that you can jump up.
Then, you can easily push the barrel to the right...
Now, we need to push that jar to the
right. To do so, we have to put the three blocks over each other.
First jump over the block in the middle, and then jump to get the upper one.
And push it like this...
Next, you can easily push the one below...
So far so good... Now, push the jar above to the right to lay ground for the barrels...
Now, the important step comes. We must make the blocks fall apart, because we need to jump through this hole. First, we push the one in the middle, which is a bit tricky. It must be pushed, and then we escape immediately. (This is why we put the block at the bottom shifted a little to the left!)
Finally, the road is open for the barrels
to start marching!!
The tart is, of course, useless, so, we just push it away, to make room for
the barrel.
Now, we send the first barrel...
We are getting really close! Now, we jump down, and back through the hole (That's why we made all those blocks fall apart!). And push the barrel on top of the other one... The same goes for the other one.
Finally, we push the two remaining barrles...
And, Horray... It's over! And it also has a nice pattern! All blocks of the same type goes together. It was a termendous feeling when it was solved!!
And get ready for the end of the game!! :)
